Struggling to pay your energy bills this year?

We are offering free classes to those who have trouble making ends meet in the Winter, when energy bills soar. We already offer help paying utility bills, and we can even weatherize homes so they stay warmer. But you can also take steps to lower your own bill. Sign up for one of our new Home Energy classes, and learn some neat tips and tricks for lowering your energy use. You can sign up for a class by calling us at 541-492-3902 or selecting a class on-line here. We will check to make sure you income qualify for our class.

UCAN AmeriCorps is now accepting applications from organizations that can benefit from the service of a dedicated AmeriCorps Member! If you’re interested in hosting a Member or learning more about how AmeriCorps can support your work, we encourage you to complete this form. We offer ongoing virtual info sessions and one-on-one meetings to answer your questions and explore project ideas. Additionally, we’re hosting regional outreach events on the week of February 24-27 — a great opportunity to learn more about the program.

The deadline to apply for a 1700 hour Member is April 4, 2025. Our Members improve organizational capacity of project host sites to deliver direct services addressing education, economic opportunity, or healthy futures. To apply, please read the attached RFP first. Then complete and submit the application, assurances, and appropriate position description. Use the checklist to make sure you’re submitting everything needed.

New 1700 hour AmeriCorps positions will begin August 28, 2025 and continue through July 31, 2026 within our service region in Southwest Oregon. 900 hour positions will begin on February 2, 2026 and continue through July 31, 2026. Each position offers a range of opportunities to help local communities, build your skills, and obtain important experience. Each also provides a living allowance, education award, and other benefits. Check back in early May when our 1700 hour positions launch for recruitment!
